Dry Ice Blasting is new, more environmentally friendly form of blasting that is designed to take the place of traditional blasting methods such as sand, corn cob, walnut shell or soda blasting. Dry ice blasting has many advantages over the traditional methods:
• It is non-abrasive, nonflammable and nonconductive
• It contains no secondary contaminents making it environmentally friendly
• It is safe and approved for the food industry
• It is safe on active electrical or mechanical parts
• It evaporates leaving no chemical residue
Dry Ice Blasting is done using high pressure air for accelerating frozen carbon dioxide (dry ice pellets) at a very high speed. Carbon dioxide is a non-poisonous, liquefied gas, which is both inexpensive and easily stored at work sites It is not as abrasive and won't cause pitting making it an ideal medium for delicate blasting.
